About the Habitat Map App

In celebration of Habitat′s 500,000th and 500,001st milestone and World Habitat Day, we’ve created the Habitat Map App to encourages volunteers to tell us where they’ve built with Habitat for Humanity. Our goal is to create a dynamic representation of 35 years of Habitat volunteer experiences around the globe. Add your previous experience and tell us--what was it that made your Habitat experience memorable? Then help us spread the word by sharing with your friends and family.

About my experience I am a Master Roofer and Applachia Habit asked to borrow my ladders to build 10 houses in a week. I knew it couldn't be done. When they aske me to volunteer for a week, I agreed. But when they told me that I had to pay, I though that was the funnest thing I had ever heard. Me a Mastrer Roofer pay to work. I sat in the floor and almost wet myself laughing. Me, pay to work, no way. To make a long story short, they let me come free for the use of my ladders and my truck. I also had to put all the shingles on each of the 10 houses. I had a machine and loading shingles on a roof was no problem. I enjoyed myself so much I was ready to pay to work next year.
