About the Habitat Map App

In celebration of Habitat′s 500,000th and 500,001st milestone and World Habitat Day, we’ve created the Habitat Map App to encourages volunteers to tell us where they’ve built with Habitat for Humanity. Our goal is to create a dynamic representation of 35 years of Habitat volunteer experiences around the globe. Add your previous experience and tell us--what was it that made your Habitat experience memorable? Then help us spread the word by sharing with your friends and family.

About my experience I've hugged over 150 Habitat families in my 22 years as Executive Director of HFH Lake County, IL. It is my joy to see the children in our families grow and move on to solid lives. Over the years, seeing neighborhoods improve and become safer and more beautiful has brought me much happiness. I've been blessed to parter with thousands of volunteers including our tremedous Board members and an outstanding staff.

Why I volunteer I love being part of an international organization with people serving God and the needs of others for the right reasons! and I love the people I encounter every day and the many friends I've made over the years.
