About the Habitat Map App

In celebration of Habitat′s 500,000th and 500,001st milestone and World Habitat Day, we’ve created the Habitat Map App to encourages volunteers to tell us where they’ve built with Habitat for Humanity. Our goal is to create a dynamic representation of 35 years of Habitat volunteer experiences around the globe. Add your previous experience and tell us--what was it that made your Habitat experience memorable? Then help us spread the word by sharing with your friends and family.

About my experience My first Habitat Project was the Jimmy Carter Work Project in Tijuana, Mexico in 1990. I've been volunteering ever since. I have especially enjoyed traveling overseas with the Carter Project, I've been to Mexico, Hungary, The Philippines, Korea, Thailand, Washington, D.C. and twice here in Los Angeles. I still volunteer primarily with rehab projects. I have met too many wonderful people to count and always have the satisfaction of making a real contribution to the world.

Why I volunteer Because it makes a real and lasting improvement in the lives of the people we build with and it makes a major contribution to my own satisfaction with life.
