About the Habitat Map App

In celebration of Habitat′s 500,000th and 500,001st milestone and World Habitat Day, we’ve created the Habitat Map App to encourages volunteers to tell us where they’ve built with Habitat for Humanity. Our goal is to create a dynamic representation of 35 years of Habitat volunteer experiences around the globe. Add your previous experience and tell us--what was it that made your Habitat experience memorable? Then help us spread the word by sharing with your friends and family.

About my experience My most recent experience was with Habitat's Global Village Program in Kenya. This was my third Global Village and it was quite exceptional! Kenya made such an impression on me, that I have decided to go back in 2012, only this time, I will be leading my own team! I have been volunteering and working for Habitat for Humanity since 1990 and have loved every minute! Check out my YouTube Channel "MyParadiseFalls" for videos of all my adventures.

Why I volunteer I choose to volunteer with Habitat because they are unapologetically Christian in principle and demonstrate the love of Jesus by providing simple decent shelter all around the world. Volunteering as a Global Village Work Camp Leader allows me to engage in my passion, share this amazing experience with others and make the world a better place.
