About the Habitat Map App

In celebration of Habitat′s 500,000th and 500,001st milestone and World Habitat Day, we’ve created the Habitat Map App to encourages volunteers to tell us where they’ve built with Habitat for Humanity. Our goal is to create a dynamic representation of 35 years of Habitat volunteer experiences around the globe. About my experience There were many unique things about this journey. It was my first trip ever to Haiti. My team was also the first Global Village team into the region post-earthquake. Volunteering in Haiti was an incredible experience I'll never forget.

Why I volunteer Safe and affordable housing is a fundamental right. It's also something that most people who aren't living in poverty housing take for granted. Habitat for Humanity isn't just about building homes. It's about building lives.
