About the Habitat Map App

In celebration of Habitat′s 500,000th and 500,001st milestone and World Habitat Day, we’ve created the Habitat Map App to encourages volunteers to tell us where they’ve built with Habitat for Humanity. Our goal is to create a dynamic representation of 35 years of Habitat volunteer experiences around the globe. Add your previous experience and tell us--what was it that made your Habitat experience memorable? Then help us spread the word by sharing with your friends and family.

About my experience When you build with Habitat you meet great people. I met Manny in Thailand, and when he was leading a build in California, I decided to pitch in and help. He led a Lenten Build with the St. John's Catholic Church Knights of Columbus. The act of working hard all day on Saturday was a particularly special way of celebrating Lent and growing closer to the Lord spiritually by helping a stranger. "Love thy neighbor as thy brother, Love Love Love"

Why I volunteer Matthew 25:35 For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. And by extension... I had no home and you helped me build a home.
