About the Habitat Map App

In celebration of Habitat′s 500,000th and 500,001st milestone and World Habitat Day, we’ve created the Habitat Map App to encourages volunteers to tell us where they’ve built with Habitat for Humanity. Our goal is to create a dynamic representation of 35 years of Habitat volunteer experiences around the globe. Add your previous experience and tell us--what was it that made your Habitat experience memorable? Then help us spread the word by sharing with your friends and family.

About my experience This was special for us in that it brought together many of our friends from up north in our home state of Florida. We worked on several homes in the Liberty City area of Miami and had the chance to meet and get to know several of the partner families. The homes we worked on were some of the strongest dwellings we've seen, vertually solid concrete walls, impact rated windows and improved roofing systems, all to maximize hurricane survivablity.

Why I volunteer We became involved with Habitat to give of ourselves personally rather than just from the pocketbook, give back some of what we’ve been blessed with, and to know that what we do has really makes a difference in someone’s life. “Work like you don’t need the money, love like you’ve never been hurt and dance like nobody’s watching”.
