About the Habitat Map App

In celebration of Habitat′s 500,000th and 500,001st milestone and World Habitat Day, we’ve created the Habitat Map App to encourages volunteers to tell us where they’ve built with Habitat for Humanity. Our goal is to create a dynamic representation of 35 years of Habitat volunteer experiences around the globe. Add your previous experience and tell us--what was it that made your Habitat experience memorable? Then help us spread the word by sharing with your friends and family.

About my experience We participated in a two-week build on two homes in the Sheridan, WY area with the RV Care-A-Vanners group. It was our first build experience and we were grateful for the way that we were made to feel right at home. The local affiliate staff was very helpful and accomodating and the volunteers and team leaders were so motivayed and helped us learn new skills. We will definitely participate in Habitat builds in the future.

Why I volunteer The fact that the perspective owners were so invested through their own sweat-equity and personal funds made our hard work and personal expenses well worth it, knowing a family would have a better living enviornment. We encourage others to participate in their own area oor on the road like us.
