About the Habitat Map App

In celebration of Habitat′s 500,000th and 500,001st milestone and World Habitat Day, we’ve created the Habitat Map App to encourages volunteers to tell us where they’ve built with Habitat for Humanity. Our goal is to create a dynamic representation of 35 years of Habitat volunteer experiences around the globe. Add your previous experience and tell us--what was it that made your Habitat experience memorable? Then help us spread the word by sharing with your friends and family.

About my experience Honduras was incredible. The nature ranged from beaches to gorgeous, lush, green Mayan ruins...the evening experiences included delicious food and eager soccer fans in the pouring rain....markets, cigar shops, winding roads...every moment was wonderful. I was struck by the degree of poverty I witnessed there, and inspired by the many clever, friendly, artistic people I met. I have also become a lifelong fan of the national Catracho soccer team!

Why I volunteer I love Habitat's focus on housing, and the practical, communal approach it takes to this most basic of life's needs.
