About the Habitat Map App

In celebration of Habitat′s 500,000th and 500,001st milestone and World Habitat Day, we’ve created the Habitat Map App to encourages volunteers to tell us where they’ve built with Habitat for Humanity. Our goal is to create a dynamic representation of 35 years of Habitat volunteer experiences around the globe. Add your previous experience and tell us--what was it that made your Habitat experience memorable? Then help us spread the word by sharing with your friends and family.

About my experience It was so terrible to see all of the devastation still left from hurricane Katrina. Being given the chance to help rebuild some of the homes that were destroyed by this disaster was truly life affirming. New Orleans was one of the coolest cities I have been to and Habitat is doing such great work to help bring it back to life.

Why I volunteer I have always thought Habitat was a great organization doing great things for families and communities. It is also fun to swing a hammer and see what you are really made of.
