About the Habitat Map App

In celebration of Habitat′s 500,000th and 500,001st milestone and World Habitat Day, we’ve created the Habitat Map App to encourages volunteers to tell us where they’ve built with Habitat for Humanity. Our goal is to create a dynamic representation of 35 years of Habitat volunteer experiences around the globe. Add your previous experience and tell us--what was it that made your Habitat experience memorable? Then help us spread the word by sharing with your friends and family.

About my experience It was my first time and I was so happy to roll up my sleeves and take part in an exciting and gratifying opportunity to help others. The day was filled with hard work and labor but the experienced contractors at the site made the days projects easy to accomplish. The great feeling you leave at the end of the day is an experience that I will always have. The attitude and support from everyone is great. Although, I have very little experience in projects such as this one, I still felt as if I could do it and get the job done. I recommend we all break away from our daily routine and visit the site at least once. I guarantee everyone will walk away with a sense of accomplishment.

Why I volunteer I love the feeling of helping others in need. The feeling of accomplishment and seeing the house I built.
