About the Habitat Map App

In celebration of Habitat′s 500,000th and 500,001st milestone and World Habitat Day, we’ve created the Habitat Map App to encourages volunteers to tell us where they’ve built with Habitat for Humanity. Our goal is to create a dynamic representation of 35 years of Habitat volunteer experiences around the globe. Add your previous experience and tell us--what was it that made your Habitat experience memorable? Then help us spread the word by sharing with your friends and family.

About my experience "Today is a day of labor but tomorrow is a future for these people," a quote that stuck with me from the first day of the worksite in the favela. My trip to Sao Paulo was my first Global Village Trip and it was a week that changed my life forever. It was such a great feeling to work alongside families and the community. To actually see how appreciative the people are for what you are doing for them was the best. I forever grateful for the friendships and memories made with Habitat.

Why I volunteer I volunteer with Habitat because it is truely an organization where you see the meaning of your work. I started with Habitat when I was a freshman in college and hope that I will continue volunteering with them the rest of my life.
