About the Habitat Map App

In celebration of Habitat′s 500,000th and 500,001st milestone and World Habitat Day, we’ve created the Habitat Map App to encourages volunteers to tell us where they’ve built with Habitat for Humanity. Our goal is to create a dynamic representation of 35 years of Habitat volunteer experiences around the globe. Add your previous experience and tell us--what was it that made your Habitat experience memorable? Then help us spread the word by sharing with your friends and family.

About my experience Some of my closest friends joined me on a GV trip to Bolivia to celebrate my birthday. We built with a single mom who had three adorable daughters. The bonus was that she is a GREAT cook and she prepared our lunch meal every day and brought it to the work site. I'll never forget the sight of her walking down the road carrying two large pots from which she unpacked dishes, utinsels, condiments, and the most delicious meals ever. I think I gained 5 pounds that week!

Why I volunteer Because it makes the work of Habitat tangible. I always receive more than I give. It replenishes my soul.
