About the Habitat Map App

In celebration of Habitat′s 500,000th and 500,001st milestone and World Habitat Day, we’ve created the Habitat Map App to encourages volunteers to tell us where they’ve built with Habitat for Humanity. Our goal is to create a dynamic representation of 35 years of Habitat volunteer experiences around the globe. Add your previous experience and tell us--what was it that made your Habitat experience memorable? Then help us spread the word by sharing with your friends and family.

About my experience My first time volunteering with HFH was with Habitat for Humanity of Madison County, and I volunteered from August 2006 - May 2010. One of my first times on the build site was working with the future homeowner and she was so sweet and grateful that I had given up my Saturday morning to volunteer...I instantly fell in love with Habitat.

Why I volunteer I wanted to make a difference in my community. I'd wanted to volunteer with Habitat for a while but had not lived near an affiliate, but was lucky to move to a college town with a campus chapter.
