About the Habitat Map App

In celebration of Habitat′s 500,000th and 500,001st milestone and World Habitat Day, we’ve created the Habitat Map App to encourages volunteers to tell us where they’ve built with Habitat for Humanity. Our goal is to create a dynamic representation of 35 years of Habitat volunteer experiences around the globe. Add your previous experience and tell us--what was it that made your Habitat experience memorable? Then help us spread the word by sharing with your friends and family.

About my experience Collegiate Challenge #3! Unfortunately, the schedule changed at the last minute and we didn't actually get to build here. My group did, however, spend the week working in the ReStore and helping fix up the affiliate offices. The people that worked here really saved the trip...it seemed as if so many things were going wrong (people dropped out at the last minute, a volunteer's mom had an emergency in the middle of the week, and so on), but they really rolled with the punches. Plus, Charleston is a beautiful city and gave us tons of options for fun evenings after work.

Why I volunteer I think it's important to give back when you can, and I love Habitat's mission of making safe, decent, affordable shelter a reality for all.
