About my experience My trip to HFH Taos was probably my favorite volunteer trip during my college years. Rick, the construction manager, was funny, a good teacher, and took a special liking to us because he, too, was from Kentucky, and the area was just goregous. We helped with the foundation of a home in Questa, NM and built an outdoor shed for them. We had to cut one day short because it snowed, but we were so productive the other days that we made up for it. To explain one of the pictures below...on our last day, Rick wondered how many people could fit in a port-a-potty. The answer? 7.
Why I volunteer I think it's important to give back when you can, and I love Habitat's mission of making safe, decent, affordable shelter a reality for all.
